Fabiano Caruana won the event with 7/9, 1 and 1/2 points clear of GM Zlatko Ilincic of Serbia. He scored his 3rd and final GM norm, and since he is a citizen of both the United States and Italy - subject to FIDE confirmation - has broken Hikaru Nakamura ´s record as the youngest ever American GM. Fabiano Caruana (b. July 30th, 1992) GM at the age of 14 years and 350 days, Hikanu Nakamura -15 years and 58 days.
